How to Use Dux Soup & LinkedIn to Scale Your Sales and Recruiting Efforts

Today I’m going to talk about how to use a little-known tool called Dux Soup, which is a lead generation tool for LinkedIn, to help you prospect and grow your business in terms of sales and recruiting.

Dux Soup is an awesome tool that costs $15 a month. I learned about it from a friend in a group that I’m in called Young Entrepreneurs Council and it’s great because it allows you to do a couple different things, which I’m going to show you.

I pay for a LinkedIn Recruiter’s subscription because I’m always looking to recruit great people. You can pay for a LinkedIn Sales Navigator subscription as well. I recommend one or the other.

So let’s say I’m recruiting PPC people. The great thing about Dux Soup is it allows you to visit people’s profiles and endorse them at the same time. That way, it shows that you’re actually engaging with them rather than just hitting them up for something that you want.

On my LinkedIn page, it’s got my name, company, and title. But underneath in my subtitle, I’ve written that we’re looking to hire great PPC, social media and sales people to join our digital marketing agency, so it’s very direct about I’m looking for.

With Dux Soup, I can visit a couple hundred profiles a day for specific keywords that I’m looking for, and these people will see that “Oh, this Eric guy’s a little interested, maybe I’m going to visit his profile.” What will happen afterwards is that I’m going to endorse them, they’re going to add me to their network, and then we can start a conversation that way. So it’s a little warmer. You can do the same thing for sales as well.

Let’s say I’m looking for an account executive, a sales person. I’ve saved the query already — and you can do this in Sales Navigator as well — which includes “account executive” in “Los Angeles”, “marketing and advertising”, “three to ten years of experience”, has the keyword “AdWords” in there. So I’m looking for someone that’s very specific.

As you can see in the upper right corner in the screenshot above, Dux Soup is activated. I have a Chrome extension, so all I need to do is just start hitting “Visit Profiles”.

And before I start visiting profiles, it asks if I want to message connections automatically.

So, if anybody is a first-degree connection and, let’s say I’m trying to invite them to a dinner, maybe, in New York, I can hit up all those people and, when I visit them, it sends them a message automatically. Makes things a lot easier. If I’m looking for CEOs, I can do that, too.

The next option is auto connecting with people. You might not want to do that, because if you try to auto connect with everybody, LinkedIn is going to detect that and they might just block your account. Trust me, I know. I’ve been blocked a little bit in the past. So you want to make sure that you’re not being overly spammy about this stuff. Don’t abuse their terms of service.

And then there’s the option to auto endorse the top three, and then revisit after seven days. You can set certain criteria that you want this tool to follow, and at the same time, Dux Soup just added the ability to look for e-mail addresses other than your first-degree connections. For me, I’m just going to put no thank you, I’m not looking to do that. I just want to visit profiles. So all I do is hit OK, and now Dux Soup starts to visit profiles.

TIP: You cannot let your computer go on idle when Dux Soup is visiting profiles, so I recommend downloading an app in Mac called Caffeine. Caffeine will keep your computer on indefinitely.

So that’s basically it for Dux Soup. You can use different tools that I will talk about later as well. If you’ve done stuff like this before, if you have other tools that you can recommend, leave it in a comment. I’ll respond. I’m always interested in seeing what other people are using.
