Eric Siu: Welcome to another episode of Marketing School, I'm Eric Siu.

Neil Patel: And I'm Neil Patel.

Eric Siu: And today we're going to talk about how to grow your business using ring less voicemail. So, we talked about this a while back, but I think it's a good refresher to bring up to everyone again. ring less voicemails are basically, let's say Neil fills out a form on my website and it has a phone number, which is required. Neil puts in his mobile number, and from there what I can do with ring less voicemail is I can basically drop a voicemail into his mobile inbox, and from there he can listen to the voicemail. The phone's not going to ring at all.
This is a way of let's say, again, Neil opts into my email list, I can send him a ring less voicemail saying, "Hey Neil." Or maybe just, "Hey," because it has to be more general. So, "Hey, thanks for opting in to our email list. By the way, we have a webinar that's going on right now that's going to help you with your business, or help you with marketing. Go check it out here, and I'll talk to you soon." So that adds a lot more kind of personable aspect to your marketing. And what you can do with a tool like this, they have an API, you can combine it with whatever form fields that you're using and then whoever fills out a form there, maybe you can enrich them. Decide what you want to do there, and then send them a ring less voicemail to remind them of what you have going on, because a lot of people, myself included, I check my voicemails a lot.
You can send them a text too, but I mean in this case you're just adding a different touch point to make your marketing a little more unique.

Neil Patel: Well let's take a step back, Eric, if you get a call from a random phone number, do you answer?

Eric Siu: Never.

Neil Patel: If you get a voicemail from a random phone number, do you listen to it?

Eric Siu: I actually do listen to it.

Neil Patel: I do too, because you're like ah, I don't have to talk to the person, let me at least listen to the voicemail. That's the power of ring less voicemails. When you put them on people's phones, even if they don't know the number, if it's not in their phone book they don't care, in most cases they'll listen to it.
Now, Eric, what software do you use for ring less voicemails?

Eric Siu: So, we use something called SlyBroadcast, but there's also one called Stratics Networks, because SlyBroadcast is maybe not the best name.

Neil Patel: yes, it's too hard. But nonetheless, it's very valuable, it works really well. At the same time, what we found out is when a lead comes in, when you do a ring less voicemail saying, "Hey, thank you for opting in and setting up an appointment to talk to one of our reps. This is yada yada from this company. I just want to give you a heads up before you call takes place, these are some of the things that we're going to be helping you with. We really look forward to your business. We're going to be analysis it, going over it." And you're just telling them things they can expect.
What we found is it increases their show up rate. In addition to that, what we also do is we don't call people, but we also send text messages at the same time, because when you send a text message we found that people also look at it, even if they don't know who it's from, they'll take the time to read the text message.

Eric Siu: Yeah, I mean I think you can actually build this using Zapier to hook everything together, right? So let's say form fill comes in, you push them a text message, and then you push them a SlyBroadcast. And then you can push them into a different, whatever else, maybe push a message to your Slack channel, right? You can build a workflow that has many different Apps that are hooked together, and that way it's going to make things a lot more automated. Because when you make things more automated, when you take humans out of it, it means less mistakes, and again, it means more revenue for you.

Neil Patel: We use [inaudible 00:03:41] for Infusion Soft for the text part. If you got a text message Eric from a random person that just said, "Eric?" What are you going to respond with?

Eric Siu: Who's this?

Neil Patel: Exactly. And we found that to work the best out of any other form of text message we've sent, always first name? They'll say who is this? And then you go into your spiel, you can automate all of that with [inaudible 00:04:03].

Eric Siu: Great. I have nothing more to add, do you?

Neil Patel: Nope.

Eric Siu: All right, so that's it for today. Go to singlegrain.com/giveaway to check out our marketing tools to grow your business, and we'll see you tomorrow.
