So here we go. Google Search Console is number one. Google Search Console is free. You should be using it, it's free, so Google Search Console, check it out. All you need to do, login, go to the search analytic section right here, and then from there what you are looking at is you are looking for pages that have a high impression count, but a low click-through-rate. "But, Eric what does that mean?" So, let me show you what that means. If I go in right here, I have basically clicked on the clicks, the impressions, and the CTR right here, and then I'm sorting by pages. From there I need to click on impressions, sort from the top down, and if you're looking at my screen right here, the first row is fine. Number one is fine. Number two, 15 free SEO tools to help you improve your Google ranking.
Wow, Google is giving me 141,000 impressions per month on this, okay? They're being very generous. Now, I am not doing my job of getting people to click through to my sight, so the title and meta description are not optimized, so all need to do is look for pages that have, again, a high impression count, but I click the rate that maybe is below 1%, or whatever your average is. Then from there you can come up with a better title, better meta description, and then from there you're going to gain more traffic. That's the first thing you can do. It's not going to cost you any money.
Google Search Console is a little manual for my taste, and it doesn't show me how much more money I can make, and it doesn't organize things, so we basically created a product called ClickFlow and if you're interested in that well you can just go to singlegrain.com/demo, and then we can see if we can guide you through a demo. Basically this is how it looks. I don't want to talk too much about this, but look, it shows you how much more money you can make. How many more clicks you can gain. It shows you the website, the page itself. You can see how it's doing over time too. The top 50 pages, right? So, anyway that's ClickFlow, but I'm going to move on to the next thing.
Number two. Numero dos. PageSpeed Insights. You want to see how fast your pages are. Page speed is a factor when it comes to ranking, so you can just google PageSpeed Insights. Put your site in there. You can see what the issues are on mobile, on desktop, as well, and then you can figure out what you need to do from there. Send it off to your developers and then, well, you're going to be happy, and I'm going to be happy, so we're all happy again. If you're really happy, just subscribe by the way.
You should be auditing your website as well. Whether you're using Screaming Frog as an onsite checker, it'll scrape you whole entire website, or not scrape it but it'll crawl your entire website. You can also use these audit tools that are part of SEO suites. SEMrush for example, Atrust, they all have audit tools that will show you how much duplicate content you have, what kind of issues you have on your website, so if you're lazy you can use those. If you're a little more technical then you can use Screaming Frog, SEO Spider. I'm lazy. I like getting the reports all the time, but Screaming Frog, I have done those reports in the past. It is really in depth. It's going to help you gain more traffic, so I do recommend taking a look at that.
On my screen right here we have SEMrush. This is just one of the reports. It's going to show you crawlability, crawl budget, all this kind of stuff that you have, and, well, it's just really easy to follow.
The other thing to pay attention to is your bounce rate. I'm looking at singlegrain.com right now, and looking at the bounce rate we're at about 40%, so it depends on the type of website that you have. If your site is, let's say every page has about 200-300 words, you're bounce rate might be really high. For example, maybe people are trying to click out. Maybe they're not getting what they need, and they're clicking out to maybe an ad that you have and they're bouncing off to somewhere else, or if you content is so good they might just leave afterwords. If you have a really long flowing piece of content, they might leave afterwards, but monitor your bounce rate. Your mileage may vary. It's really dependent on the niche, or the industry that you're in.
These are just a couple of ways that you can go about really cranking your SEO up. Obviously the two main things that matter are content and links. Make sure that you're doing a good job there.
