Eric Siu: In this video I'm going to give you some Google AdWords tricks to level up your business. My name is Eric Siu, I co-host the Marketing School podcast with my co-host Neil Patel, and that's every single day, and I host the Growth Everywhere podcast where I interview world-class entrepreneurs every single week.
So the first thing you can do with Google is you can run Gmail ads, for example. A lot of people don't really pay attention to Gmail ads, but there a lot of people opening Gmail ads, especially if you're targeting a more senior audience Gmail ads actually work.
Second thing you can do is you can retargeting ads that are tied in with your Google Analytics. So for example, if you have a site that has a 100,000 visits a month and you want to target people that have spent time on your site for over three minutes or so on a specific page, you can do that with YouTube. You can run a retargeting sequence and tell a story that way. You can also do general retargeting ads. You can actually do this across the board. People tend to kind of neglect it. I'm not telling you anything new here, I'm just reminding you that retargeting ads actually work.
Third thing is you can use Google call tracking too. So with Google call tracking you can see what keywords people are calling on and you can get all kinds of rich data. And if you want to take it one step further you can use a call tracking tool like CallRail, and CallRail will give you even more data that you can follow up on and that's going to help you.
Don't forget about YouTube advertising, it is the number two search engine in the world. A lot of people think, "Oh man, videos are so hard to make. There's a barrier to entry. It takes so much time. I'm so scared. I'm not good on camera." Great, that's why most people aren't doing video. That's why this is your opportunity to do video. I'm doing video. I might even retarget you after you watch this video.
You can also run responsive ads too. Responsive ads are ads that you can kind of ... Well, they adjust with the screen.
You can also run shopping ads as well. E-commerce sites run shopping ads all the time, and Google has in-store ads too. There's just a lot of different ads you can run.
Guess what? Google also bought Waze, that's W-A-Z-E, for over a $1 billion. You can also run Waze ads as well. Google owns it, I don't know if it's in the Google AdWords platform, but that's just something else because it falls in the Google ecosystem.
